This traditional drink of India has a distinctive and delicious taste. It combines a mixture of black teas along with sweet and zesty spices including cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves to create a uniquely rich and spicy beverage. Chai Tea is usually sweetened, so try adding a bit of sweetener, a dash of vanilla, or even milk. It tastes great whether served hot or cold. The term "chai" is derived for the Hindi word for tea.
China Black B.O.P tea (Broken Orange Pekoe), organic cinnamon, organic Assam tea, organic cardamom, organic cloves, organic ginger, and black pepper.
Add 1 teaspoon of tea to your infuser or tea bag, then place in 8 ounces of boiling hot water. Allow to steep for 4-5 mins. (Optimial Brew Temperature 212° F) . Add your sweetener and milk for a classic Chai.
Our 0.5 ounce will produce 3-6 cups of tea, our 1.0 ounce will produce 6-12 cups of tea. After the first cup of tea, we recommend re-steeping and reusing the tea leaves for a second cup.
We encourage our tea drinkers to experiment with the tea flavors by brewing at varying temperatures, allowing to steep for different times, and adding your choice of sweeteners (or not) & milks. Keep in mind, teas have optimal brewing temperatures that are intended to maximize the distinct flavors of the teas, without burning or "overcooking" the leaves.
