Peppermint is a natural hybrid of spearmint and water mint. It is used for its healthful properties and has many applications in food. Peppermint leaf is commonly steeped as a refreshing peppermint tea but is also popular in herbal tea blends and candies.
Organic Peppermint Leaf
Add 1 teaspoon of tea to your infuser or tea bag, then place in 8 ounces of boiling hot water. Allow to steep for 5-10 mins. (Optimial Brew Temperature 208° F) .
Our 0.5 ounce will produce 3-6 cups of tea, our 1.0 ounce will produce 6-12 cups of tea. After the first cup of tea, we recommend re-steeping and reusing the tea leaves for a second cup.
We encourage our tea drinkers to experiment with the tea flavors by brewing at varying temperatures, allowing to steep for different times, and adding your choice of sweeteners (or not) & milks. Keep in mind, teas have optimal brewing temperatures that are intended to maximize the distinct flavors of the teas, without burning or "overcooking" the leaves.
Use with caution in persons with gastroesophageal reflux or with a hiatal hernia, as peppermint may decrease esophageal sphincter pressure.
